Given:

The diameter of a roller is 2.1 metre and its length is 1.75 metre

The cost of levelling it at 75 paise per metre square

To find:

The cost of levelling

Solution:

We know that the shape of the roller of the leveller is in the shape of the cylinder.

And while levelling the curved surface area of the figure is touched with the ground.

So, we get:

The area of the ground = 500×2πrh

Where

d= 2.1

r = 2.1/2

h = 1.75

By putting the values

The area of the ground = 500×2×22/7×2.1/2×1.75

The area of the ground = 11550 m²

And the rate f the levelling is 75 paise that means ₹0.75

So the total cost of the levelling is;

Cost = Rate × Area of the ground

Cost = 0.75 × 11550

Cost = ₹8662.5

The cost of levelling the ground is ₹8662.5
