assume a sphere of diameter d its curved surface area is πd^2
after decreasing it by 25% the new diameter will be 3d/4 therefore new surface area will be by 9πd^2/16
change in surface area will be πd^2/16
percentage decrease will be [(πd^2/16)/πd^2]×100=100/16=6.25%
therefore decrease in curved surface area of the sphere is 6.25 %
