let's take the diameter of earth be d

so diameter of moon is d/4

  1. area of earth = 3.14r²
  • = 3.14 d²/4

2 area of moon = 3.14r²

= 3.14d²/16

now, ratio of area of moon to earth = (3.14d²/16)/(3.14d² / 4)

Ans = 1/4
