The diameter of wheel is 0.70 M. Find the distance covered by it in 500 revolutions. If the wheel takes 5 minutes to make 500 revolutions find its speed in metre per second and kilometre per hour.

radius of the wheel= 0.70÷2=0.35
distance covered by the wheel=perimeter× number of revolutions
ie, 2×3.14×0.35×500=1099m

speed=distance travelled÷time taken
ie, speed in metre per second=1099÷(5×60)=3.6m/s

speed in kilometre per hour is,
distance in kilometre=1099÷1000=1.099km
time in hour=5÷60=0.08 hour
ie speed= 1.099×0.08=0.0879 km/hr.
