The diameters of the base of two cone are equal and their slant height are in the ratio 5 : 4 . If curved surface area of the smaller cone is 400 sq.cm , then find the curved surface area of bigger cone.

Hey! Here is your answer..

since the diameters are equal radii will be equal.

Let slant heights be 5x and 4x

CSA of cone=πrl

CSA of big cone÷CSA of small cone =πRL÷πrl

=L÷l (Radii are equal)

=5÷4

Now,

400÷ CSA of big cone=4÷5

CSA of big cone=500cm²
