the DIAMETRE is 82cm and LENGTH of chord is 80 cm .CALCULATE the distance of the chord from the centre of the circle.

now chord will be half........reason, perpendicular drawn from the center of the circle towards the chord bisects the chord

now use pytha goras theorem

x^{2} = radius^{2} + chord^{2}

x^{2}  = 42^{2} + 40^{2}

x^{2}   = 1764 + 1600

x^{2} = 3364

therefore,

x = \sqrt{3364}

x = 58

hence,

answer is 58
