GIVEN:

Circumference - Diameter = 21.4 cm

TO FIND:

Radius of the circle

SOLUTION:

Circumference = 2πr

Diameter = 2 × radius = 2r

∵ Circumference - Diameter = 21.4 cm

==> 2πr - 2r = 21.4

==> 2r (π - 1) = 21.4 [Taking common factor]

==> 2r (3.14 - 1) = 21.4 [π = 3.14]

==> 2r (2.14) = 21.4

==> 2r = 21.4/2.14

==> 2r = 2140/214

==> 2r = 10

==> r = 5

∴ Radius of the circle is 5 cm
