the difference between increasing a number by 5% and decreasing it by 5% is 20. what is the number ?

10 % =20

1% =2

100% = 200

number is 200

Take x as unknown number
Then 20% to that x
X+5X/100

20 less to that
X-5X/100

Now equate to 20
X+5X/100 - X-5X/100=20
We get 200...

So ans is 200

Verify
210-190=200
