Offline backups can be done via storing ur data in pendrives, memory cards, hard drives, and other devices.
Online backups can be done by cloud websites such as Google Drive, OneDrive, Hungama Drive and many more.
Both have their different pro's and cons
Like if ur pendrive or other device will be lost u will lost all the backed up data
And in online backing up one can hack or steal the data from servers.But then also Online way is more safe.
