Given : The difference between simple interest on a sum of money for 3 years and for 2 years at 10% per annum is rupees 300

To Find : find the sum

Solution:

Let the principal be x

Time = 3 years

Rate = 10%

SI = \frac{P \times T \times R}{100}\\SI=\frac{x \times 3 \times 10}{100}

Time = 2 years

SI = \frac{P \times T \times R}{100}\\SI=\frac{x \times 2 \times 10}{100}

We are given that The difference between simple interest on a sum of money for 3 years and for 2 years at 10% per annum is rupees 300

\frac{x \times 3 \times 10}{100}-\frac{x \times 2 \times 10}{100}=300\\\frac{30x}{100}-\frac{20x}{100}=300\\\frac{10x}{100}=300\\10x=30000\\x=3000

Hence The sum is 3000
