a-b =256. 3rd equation
after solving 2nd and 3rd equation U will get it answer

or,(a+b)(a-b)=256000

or,a-b=256000/1000

or,a-b=256.........(1)

a+b=1000......(2)

adding (1). and (2).

2a=1256

a=628

b=1000-a

=1000-628
