Hello !

Complementary angles always add upto 90°,

and let the angles be x and y,

hence, x + y = 90°

diff between them is 40° :- x- y =40

                                             x  = 40+y.

therefore,  40 +y+y = 90

                      2y = 90 -40

                       2y = 50

                        y = 50/2

                          y = 25°

  so, x = 40 +y

           = 40 +25 =  65°
