Step-by-step explanation:

For the Rs 15 you have given you will get a nasty figure as the sum.

So I will change it a bit to Rs 15.25 ps.

Assume that the sum is Rs 100.

SI on Rs 100 @ 5% p.a. for 3 yrs = 100(5)(3)/100 = Rs 15

CI on Rs 100 @ 5% p.a. for 3 yrs

= 100(1+ 5/100)^3 - 100 = Rs 15.7625.

So difference between SI and CI = Re 0.7625 ps.

Re 0.7625 is the difference for a sum of Rs 100.

For Rs 15.25 difference the sum should be

(15.25)(100)/.7625 = Rs 2000 a nice round sum.
