Answer:

let l & b would be the length and breadth of the rectangle respectively.

( l - b) = 23 ... ( 1)

perimeter : 2 ( l + b) = 206

2l + 2b = 206...( 2)

multiply 1st equation by 2.

2 ( l - b ) = 2(23)

2l - 2b = 46 ... (3)

we will add (2) & (3) equation.

2l + 2b = 206 ... (2)

+ 2l - 2b = 46...(3)

4l = 252 l = 252 /4 = 63 CM

put the value of l in 1st equation.

( l - b) = 23...( 1) 63 - b = 23 63 - 23 = b = 40cm

area of the rectangle : l * b = 63 * 40 = 2520cm^2
