Let the Arun age be y

Age of Deepak be y + 14

Before 7yrs their age ratio is 5:7

TO FIND :- Age of Deepak

SOLUTION :-

According to the Question ,

$\frac{y - 7}{y + 14 - 7} = \frac{5}{7} \\ \\ \\ \implies \frac{y - 7}{y + 7} = \frac{5}{7} \\ \\ \\ \implies 7(y - 7) = 5(y + 7) \\ \\ \\ \implies 7y - 49 = 5y + 35 \\ \\ \\ \implies 2y = 35 + 49 \\ \\ \\ \implies 2y = 84 \\ \\ \\ \implies y = \frac{84}{2} \\ \\ \\ \implies \boxed{y = 42}$

Age of Arun (y) is 42yrs while age of Deepak is ( y + 14) = 42 + 14 = 56 yrs.

Hence, age of Deepak is 56yrs. (ANS)
