Hi ,

Let x and ( x + 2 ) are two consecutive odd

numbers ,

according to the problem given ,

( x + 2 )² - x² = 56

x² + 4x + 4 - x² = 56

4x+ 4 = 56

4x = 56 - 4

4x = 52

x = 52/4

x = 13

Therefore ,

required consecutive odd numbers are ,

x = 13 ,

x + 2 = 13 + 2 = 15

I hope this helps you.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x and ( x + 2 ) are two consecutive odd

numbers ,

according to the problem given ,

( x + 2 )² - x² = 56

x² + 4x + 4 - x² = 56

4x+ 4 = 56

4x = 56 - 4

4x = 52

x = 52/4

x = 13

Therefore ,

required consecutive odd numbers are ,

x = 13 ,

x + 2 = 13 + 2 = 15
