Suppose that number are X & Y

First condition is Theirs difference is 2

So,

X-Y = 2........... Eq(1)


SECOND condition is Theirs product is 143


So,

XY= 143

X = 143/Y.....Equation (2)

Equation 2 value put in equation 1


143/Y - Y = 2

Take L.C.M Y

So,

143-Y²= 2Y

Y²+2Y-143 =0

( Y+13)(Y-11)=0

Y = - 13 or Y = 11

When Y = - 13 ; X = - 11

When Y = 13 ; X = 11
