let, the smaller number be X

A.T.Q

X = 4y + 3

X - 4Y = 3______(i)

X - Y = 54______(ii)

from (i) and (ii)

X - 4Y = 3

X - Y = 54

Y = - 17

therefore, X = 4Y + 3

X = 4× (-17) +3

X = -65

so, the greater number is -17
