Given :  difference between two 2-digit numbers  ab and ba, ) is divided

by 3.

ab > ba

To Find  :  quotient

Solution:

ab = 10a + b

ba = 10b + a

ab - ba = 10a + b - (10b + a)

= 9a - 9b

= 9(a - b)

Divided by 3

=  9(a - b)/3

= 3(a - b)

ab > ba  and  two digit numbers hence

a > b   and a , b ≠ 0

a  = 2 , 3........9

b =  1 , ...............8

a - b Max value =  9 - 1  =  8

a - b  Min Value =   1     ( a > b )

3(a - b)  can be

3 , 6 , 9 , 12 , 15 , 18 , 21 , 24

quotient  can be 3 , 6 , 9 , 12 , 15 , 18 , 21 , 24
