Step-by-step explanation:

let x and y be the requires no

such that x-y=7. EQ 1

where x is greater than y

according to the question

3x= 4y-14 eq 2

from EQ 1

x=7+y

put value of x in EQ 2

3(7+y) = 4y - 14

21-3y = 4y -14

21+14 = 4y +3y

35 = 7y

or y = 35÷ 7

or y = 5

put value of y in EQ 1

x- 5 = 7

or x= 7+5

or x=12
