Let the 2 numbers be a and b
a - b = 100
Smaller number is decreased by 10
b becomes b - 10
Bigger number is increased by 20
a becomes a + 20
New difference
a + 20 - ( b - 10 )
= a + 20 - b + 10
= a - b + 30
But a - b = 100
==> a - b + 30
==> 100 + 30
==> 130
The value will be 130
Hope it helps :-)

Answer : 130
Let, the two numbers are a and b
Given that :
The difference between two numbers is 100.
According to the question : a–b = 100....(1)
Also given that : The smaller of the two numbers is decreased by 10, then
b–10
and the larger one is increased by 20, then
a+20
Now, their difference will be :
(a+20) – (b–10)
=> a–b +20+10
=> (a–b)+30
=> 100+30 from equation (1) a-b = 100
=> 130
So, their new difference will be 130
