Step-by-step explanation:

Let the larger no. be x and the smaller one be x-7

Then,

6(x-7) +x = 77 ...(given)

⇒6x - 42 +x = 77

⇒7x- 42 = 77

i.e x= 17

Now putting the value of x in given equation, we get

i.e x-7=y

⇒y = 17-7

⇒y = 10

solution:-

Suppose the smaller number is X and the larger is Y

So, according to question,

Y-X =7………………(1)

Secondly,

Y+6X = 77…………..(2)

Now, by substracting no 1 from no 2 we get,

(Y + 6X) -(Y - X) = 77 - 7

7X = 70

X = 70/7

X = 10

So the smaller is 10

And the larger is (10+7) = 17
