Solution :-

Given :

The difference between two

positive integers is 32. &

The ratio of these integers

is 1:3.

To find :

Required integers

Let us consider 1:3 as

1x and 3x and their sum

is 32

So,

we have to solve this equation

1x - 3x = 32

Let us solve,

⇒ 1x - 3x = 32

⇒ 2x = 32

⇒ x = 32 ÷ 2

⇒ x = 16

∴ First integer = x

                       = 16

and second integer = 3x

                                 = 3 × 16

                                 = 48

Verification :-

⇒ (1  × 16) - (3  × 16) = 32

⇒ 16 - 48 = 32

⇒ 32 = 32

L.H.S=R.H.S

hence it is verified
