the difference between two positive integers is 36 the quotient,when one integer is divided by other is 4 find two integer

singh171: answer is 12 and 48
adarsh293: x-y=36 andx/y=4 then, x=36+y...(1) and x=4y now put the value of x in =equation (1) we get. 4y=36+y=3y=36 y=12 again put this value in equation( 1
adarsh293: we get x=48 now answer is 12 and 48

Hey!!!

________

let the two positive integers be x and y

Then ATQ,

=> x - y = 36

=> x = 36 + y --------(1)

Also

=> x/y = 4

=> x = 4y

Using (1) in above equation

=> 36 + y = 4y

=> 3y = 36

=> y = 12

Using y in (1)

=> x = 36 + 12

=> x = 48

Thus the two integers are 12 and 48

Hope this helps ✌️

Hey!

_____________

A.T.Q

Let one integer be x and another be y

x - y = 36

x = 36 + y ------ (i)

And,

x / y = 4

x = 4y --------- (ii)

Combining (i) and (ii)

36 + y = 4y
36 = 4y - y
36 = 3y
y = 36/3
y = 12

Putting value of y in (i)

x = 36 + 12
x = 48

Hope it helps...!!!
