Given that,

The ratio between two positive integers is 50 and the ratio between them is 1 : 3

Let the two positive integer be x and 3x.

➡ 3x - x = 50

➡ 2x = 50

➡ x = 50/2

➡ x = 25

Hence, the two positive numbers are :-

  • x = 25

  • 3x = 3 × 25 = 75

VERIFICATION :-

LHS :-

= 3x - x

= 75 - 25

= 50

RHS :-

= 50

LHS = RHS. Hence verified!

The Numbers

Sσlutíσn -

Let the Numbers be as -

  • One Number as 1y
  • Second Number as 3y

\sf{\implies} \: 3y - y = 50

\sf{\implies} \: 2y = 50

\sf{\implies} \: y =  \dfrac{50}{2}

\sf{\implies} \: y = 25

First Number = 25

\textbf{Second Number -}

\sf{\implies} \: 3(25)

\sf{\implies} \: 75

Second Number = 75

\therefore The numbers are 25 and 75.

Check their difference is 50 or not.

\sf{\implies} \: 75-25=50

\sf{\implies} \: 50=50

\therefore The numbers are 25 and 75.
