 sum of two complementary angles is 90 degrees

let    Φ1 + Φ2 = 90 ... Eq 1

and  Φ1 - Φ2 = 22... Eq 2

Multiply Eq1 by -1 ,  -Φ1 - Φ2 = -90 ...Eq 1

                               Φ1 - Φ2 = 22 ...  Eq 2  Add Eq 1 to Eq 2

   -2 Φ2 = -68 , Φ2 = -68/-2 = 34 , substitute  Φ2 = 34 in Eq 1

    Φ1 + Φ2 = 90 ,  Φ1+34=90, subtract 34 from both sides,

    Φ1+34 -34= 90 -34,  Φ1 = 56 , Check

 Φ1 + Φ2 = 90, 34+56 = 90  Ok
