let two digit number be 10x + y
let reversing digit be 10y + x
difference of the digits of a two digit number is 2 so, x - y = 2 or x = y + 2
sum of the number and the number obtained by reversing the digit is 66 so,
10x + y + 10y + x = 66
11x + 11y = 66
11(x + y) = 66
x + y = 6
but x = y + 2 so,
y + 2 + y = 6
2y = 6 - 2
2y = 4
y = 2
then x = y + 2 = 2 + 2 = 4
the two digit number is 10x + y = 10*4 + 2 = 42
let reversing digit be 10y + x
difference of the digits of a two digit number is 2 so, x - y = 2 or x = y + 2
sum of the number and the number obtained by reversing the digit is 66 so,
10x + y + 10y + x = 66
11x + 11y = 66
11(x + y) = 66
x + y = 6
but x = y + 2 so,
y + 2 + y = 6
2y = 6 - 2
2y = 4
y = 2
then x = y + 2 = 2 + 2 = 4
the two digit number is 10x + y = 10*4 + 2 = 42
