Answer:

Let parallel sides be x and y

A/C to que-

x-y=20m

& area=1/2 × (x+y) × hight

450m^2=1/2(x+y)×15m

450×2/15=x+y

60m=x+y

By elimination method,

x+y=60

x-y=20

2x=80

x=40m

y=60-40=20m

Parallel sides are 40m and 20m long respectively

Let one parallel side be x, then the other will be x + 20

Area = 1/2 * Altitude * sum of parallel sides

450 = 1/2 * 15 * (x+x+20)

450 = 15/2 * (2x + 20)

450 = (15/2)*2(x+10)

x + 10 = 450/15 = 30

x = 30 - 10 = 20

x + 20 = 20 + 20 = 40

So the parallel sides are 20 m and 40 m
