b=41

2s-b=39

b-s=1

b=1+s

2s-(1+s)=39

s-1=39

s=39+1

Let the three numbers be: x-1, x and x+1.

-Therefore, x-1 + x + x+1 =3x = 39

-Hence x, the middle number is 13.
