Let the two angles be x and y.

Given,

x-y=40-------------(i)

Since these are complementary angles

x+y=90--------------(ii)

On adding eq. (i) and (ii), we get

2x= 130

So, x=65

Substitute x=65 in (i)

65+ y=90

So,y=25.

Answer= x=65, y=25
