the difference of two natural numbers is 72 if we get 4 on dividing the bigger by the smaller number find the numbers

Let one number is x.

Second will be 4x.

Difference is 72.
So apply
4x-x=72=>3x=72=>x=24.

So other number will be 24×4=96

x/y= 4
72+y/y = 4
72+y = 4y from ....eq(1)
72= 4y-y
72 = 3y
y = 72/3
y= 24
x = 72+y
= 72+24
= 96
