The difference of two numbers is 10. One number is 3 times of other number. Find the numbers.

Let the numbers be x and y

According to the Question,

Then,

x - y = 10. ......(i)
x = 3y. ......(ii)

By using Substitution Method,

We keep the value of x in Equation (i)

Then Equation (i) changes to

3y - y = 10

2y = 10

y = 10/2

y = 5

Equation (ii) Becomes,

x = 3y
x = 3*5
x = 15

Therefore numbers are 15 and 5
