Given info :-

  • The difference of two numbers is 3, and the sum of three times the larger one and twice the smaller one is 19.

To Find:-

  • The two numbers .

Solution :-

Let us take first number be x and second be y . Also let us suppose x > y . Now ,

According to first Condition ,

\sf \implies x - y = 3

\sf \implies 2(x -y)=6

\boxed{\red{\sf \implies 2x -2y =6 }}

According to Second Condition ,

\sf \implies 3x + 2y = 19

On adding these two equⁿ:-

\sf \implies 2x -2y + 3x +2y = 19+6

\sf \implies 5x = 25

\sf \implies x =\cancel{\dfrac{25}{5} }

\boxed{\red{\sf \implies x =5 }}

Put this in (i) :-

\sf \implies x - y = 3

\sf \implies 5-y=3\\\implies\sf y = 5-3\\\boxed{\red{\sf \implies y=2 }}

Hence the value of x is 5 and y is 2 .
