Let larger number be X and Smaller number be Y.
According to the question,
X - Y = 6
X = ( 6 + Y )
And,
X = 3Y + 2
6 + Y = 3Y + 2
3Y - Y = 6 - 2
2Y = 4
Y= 2
Putting the Value of Y in ,
X = ( 6 + Y ) = ( 6 + 2 )
X = 8.
Hence,
Larger number = X = 8
And,
Smaller number = Y = 2.
Their sum = 8+2 = 10.
