Here is your answer,

Let the two numbers be x and y.

X+y=137

X-y=43

By elimination method,

2x=180

X=90

Substitute the value of x ,

X+y=137

Y=137-90

=47

Let x and y be the two numbers:

\sf = x + y = 137 \\ \sf = x - y = 43

Using elimination method:

 \sf = 2x  = 180 \\ \sf = x = 90

Substuting the value of x , we get:

\sf = x + y = 137 \sf \\ \sf= y = 137 - 90 \sf \\ \sf= 47
