1. Digestion of the food in humans beings from the mouth

  • Food here is masticated by teeth and the carbohydrates are partially digested by enzymes in saliva.

  • Food leaving the mouth is known as Bolus

2. Villi are present on the walls of small intestine

  • They are finger like projections which increase surface area for the process of absorption

  • They are supplied with abundance of blood vessels which carry the food to every cell of the body

3. The largest chamber in a ruminant stomach is Rumen

  • An ideal ruminant stomach is four chambered with Rumen, Reticulum, Omasum and Abomasum

4. Cheek teeth comprises of Premolars and Molars
