The digit in the tens place of a two digit number is three times that in the unit place if the digit are reversed the new number will be 36 less then the original number find the original number

Let the number be x+10y
According to the question,
y=3x
And, 10x+y=x+10y-36
or, 9x-9y= -36
or, 9(x-y)= -36
or, x-y= -4
or, x-3x=-4 ( since, y=3x)
or, -2x= -4
or, x=2
Therefore, y=3x
or, y=3x2
or, y=6
Therefore, the original number is x+10y = 2+(10x6)
=2+60
= 62
Therefore, the original number is 62
