According to the question,
y=3x
And, 10x+y=x+10y-36
or, 9x-9y= -36
or, 9(x-y)= -36
or, x-y= -4
or, x-3x=-4 ( since, y=3x)
or, -2x= -4
or, x=2
Therefore, y=3x
or, y=3x2
or, y=6
Therefore, the original number is x+10y = 2+(10x6)
=2+60
= 62
Therefore, the original number is 62
