Answer:

Let the dimensions be 5x, 4x and 2x

Then

Volume

= 5x×4x×2x=1080

40x³=1080

x³=1080/40

x³=27

x=3 (cube root of 27)

Hence the dimensions are 15, 12 and 6 respectively

Step-by-step explanation:

ATQ

dimensions of box are in the ratio

5:4:2

let

length =5x, breadth =4x, height =2x

ATQ

volume =length×breadth×height

1080= ( 5x) ×(4x) ×(2x)

1080= 40x^3

x^3=1080/40=27

x^3=3^3

x = 3

length =5x=5(3)=15cm

breadth =4x=4(3)=12cm

height =2x=2(3)=6cm
