♠ Given -

Length (l) = 40 cm

Breadth (b) = 32 cm

Height (h) = 16 cm

♠ Longest rod that can be kept in a cuboid is

\sf{= \sqrt{{l}^{2} + {b}^{2} + {h}^{2}}}

♠ So, longest rod that can be kept in the box,

\sf{= \sqrt{{40}^{2} + {32}^{2} + {16}^{2}}}

\sf{= \sqrt{1600 + 1024 + 256}}

\sf{= \sqrt{2880}}

\sf{= 53.6656}

\sf{≈ 53.5 \: cm}

♥ •°• The longest rod that can be kept is of 53.5 cm. ♥
