x = 9

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the numerator be 'x' and Denominator be 'y'.

Then the fraction = x/y.

Let the denominator is 4 more than numerator. Then the fraction =x/x+4

If Denominator is increased by 1 and numerator is decreased by 1, The fraction is equal to x-1/x+(4+1) = x-1/x+5

Given that the fraction is equal to 4/7.

This Implies,

x-1/x+5 = 4/7

By Cross Multiplication, We get

7(x-1) = 4(x+5)

Finally, We get x=9.

Therefore, The fraction = 9/13
