 Compare \: given \: Quadratic \:equation

 3x^{2} - 4x - 2 = 0 \: with \: ax^{2}+bx+c=0 ,

 we \:get

 a = 3 , b = -4 \:and \: c = -2

 \red{ Discreminant } = b^{2} - 4ac

 = (-4)^{2} - 4 \times 3 \times (-2)

 = 16 + 24

 = 40

Therefore.,

 \red{ Discreminant } \green { = 40}
