Option ( b ) is correct.

Explanation :

Compare given Quadratic equation

x² - 3x - k = 0 with ax² + bx + c = 0,

a = 1 , b = -3 , c = -k,

Discreminant ( ∆ ) = 1 [ given ]

b² - 4ac = 1

=> ( -3 )² - 4×1×(-k) = 1

=>9 + 4k = 1

=> 4k = 1 - 9

=> 4k = -8

=> k = ( -8 )/4

=> k = -2
