The  relative strength  of the acids will be approximately 4 : 1

Option (B) is correct.

Explanation:

  • The dissociation constants of HA1  and HA2 are 3 x 10^-4 and 1.8 x 10^-5
  • The strength of an acid is directly proportional to square root of dissociation constants of acids.
  • So relative strength of the given acids are:
  • Relative Acidic Strength = (Acidic Strength)  HA2  /(Acidic Strength) HA1
  • Relative Acidic Strength =  √ 3 x 10^-4 / √ 1.8 x 10^-5 = 4.08  = 4

Thus the  relative strength  of the acids will be approximately 4 : 1
