Answer:

At a distance of 300 km from city A.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's consider that the car meets at a distance x km away from the city A.

Given,

Distance between the cities A and B = 510 km

Speed of car A  = 100 km/hr

Speed of car B = 70 km/hr

Since, the car starts at the same time and meets at a point then if car A travels a distance of x km then car B will travel a distance of (510 - x) km.

Now, according to qusetion,

   \dfrac{x}{100}\ =\ \dfrac{510 - x}{70}

=>\ 7x\ =\ 5100\ -\ 10x

=>\ 17x\ =\ 5100

=>\ x\ =\ \dfrac{5100}{17}

=>\ x\ =\ 300\ km

Hence the point where cars will meet will be 300 km away from the starting point of car A.
