Speed is defined as the rate of change of position of an object in any direction. The formula for speed is -

    Speed (S) = $\frac{Distance}{Time}$

Distance travelled by the bus = 250 Km

                                                 = 250×10³ m

Time taken by the bus to travel from Delhi to Chandigarh = 5 Hour

                                                                                                = 5×60×60

                                                                                                = 18000 sec

Speed of the bus    = $\frac{250 * 10^3}{18000}$

                                = $\frac{250 * 1000}{18000}$

                                = 13.89 m/sec

Therefore, the speed of the bus is found to be 13.89 m/sec.
