SOLUTION :-

TO DETERMINE :-

The distance between origin and  \sf{( \tan \alpha \:  , 1)}

EVALUATION :-

Here the given points are origin ( 0,0) &  \sf{( \tan \alpha \:  , 1)}

Hence the required distance between the given two points are

 \sf{ =   \bigg | \sqrt{{( \tan \alpha  - 0)}^{2} +{ (1 - 0)}^{2}  }\:  \bigg|  }

 \sf{ =   \bigg | \sqrt{{ \tan}^{2} \alpha   +1  } \bigg| }

 \sf{ =  \bigg  |\sqrt{{ \sec}^{2} \alpha    } \bigg|  }

 =  | \sec \alpha |
