• Points :- (x , 0) and (0 , 3)

Now as we have got the distance formula :-

If there are two points

A(x₁ , y₁)

B(x₂ , y₂)

Then the distance between them is

$\bold{\sqrt{(x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2 - y_1)^2 }}$

So by applying this :-

$\implies 5 = \sqrt{(0 - x)^2 + (3-0)^2 }$

$\implies 5 = \sqrt{ x^2 + 3^2 }$

On squaring

$\implies 25 = 9 + x^2$

$\implies x^2 = 16$

$\implies x = \pm 4$
