Lambda. It is its definition.

Aviral101: The sum of 2 consequtive crest and trough
AFridiiiKhaaannn: f I input before the question this line that the wavelength of a transverse wave is lambda .The distance between two cons........ DOES IT CHANGE THE OPTION
Aviral101: So it would be lambda/2.
AFridiiiKhaaannn: so whats the correct option finale
Aviral101: It is 2 lambda.
AFridiiiKhaaannn: what , which one option a b c or d
Aviral101: C.
Aviral101: 100% sure.
AFridiiiKhaaannn: in book its showing option b ,I think its option a , you think its option c
AFridiiiKhaaannn: its option c because lambda is two coinsecutive trough OR crest , so here asking two consecutive trough AND crest so option c

It's lambda/2. Since the distance between either 2 crests or troughs is lambda, the distance between a crest and a trough should be exactly in the middle.

AFridiiiKhaaannn: are you sure
Aviral101: Yes
Aviral101: 100%.
Jhingalalahuhu: Sorry. I've corrected the answer.
Aviral101: But it is given consecutive.
