Distance covered = 500 kms

Time taken = 10 hrs

Solution :

Speed = distance / time

Speed = 500 / 10

Speed = 50 km/h

Answer:

distance between two stations = 500 km = 500 x 1000 = 5,00,000 m

Amount of time train takes to cover the distance = 10 hour = 10 x 60 = 600 minutes = 600 x 60 = 36,000 seconds

speed \:  =  \frac{distance \: (in \: metres)}{time \: taken \: (in \: seconds)}

 \:  \:  \:    \:  \:  \: \:  \:  =  \frac{500000}{36000}  =  \frac{500}{36}  =  \frac{250}{18}  =  \frac{125}{9}

so, the speed of the train = 125/9 per second
