Here is ur answer..

✴️The radius of circle is 10 cm.

✴️The length of chord is 16 cm.

✔️Using theorem : The perpendicular from the centre of a circle to a chord bisects the chord.

Please see the attached picture first...

➡️In right angled triangle ABC,

AB = 10 cm

BC = 8 cm

We have to find AC, distance from the centre to chord.

By using Pythagoras theorem,

(AB) ² = (BC) ² + (AC) ²

(10)² = (8)² + (AC) ²

100 = 64 + (AC) ²

AC² = 100 - 64

AC² = 36

AC =
 \sqrt{36}

AC = 6 cm.

ANS— The distance of a chord of a lenght 16 cm from the centre of the circle of radius 10 cm is 6 cm.

HOPE IT HELPS YOU..
